The Cave Ceremony will take place at Bethlehem Cave

on June 1 at 4:00 pm.

CAVE LOCATION & ACCESS:

The cave is located on private property at the intersection of Runkle Road and Bethlehem Cave Road at 12760 Bethlehem Cave Rd. There will be private land/no trespassing signs. That is okay. We have permission to be there : )

There are two options:

Meet at the intersection of Runkle Rd. and Vanocker Canyon Road at 3:30 for caravaning/carpooling.

Drive yourself with a high clearance vehicle.

DO NOT TAKE BETHLEHEM CAVE ROAD OUT OF PIEDMONT. It requires serious off-roading. Rocks stick out of the ground over a foot and an active creek flows across the road.

BEST DIRECTIONS: Start by getting to the intersection of Runkle Road and Vanocker Canyon Road. From Rapid City/Northern Hills, approach by heading to Sturgis and taking Vanocker Canyon Road. Runkle Road will be on your left.

From the Southern Hills, get to Nemo and enter Vanocker Canyon Rd. from that end. Runkle Rd. will be on your right in this case. Runkle Road is also not a great road, but it is far better than Bethlehem Cave Road. A high clearance vehicle is still a good idea.

CAVE ATTIRE / WARM GEAR:

It is 49 degrees in the cave and you will by laying down and not moving for about 2 hours. Dress warmly.

We will provide yoga mats, blankets, sleeping bags, and pads for the ceremony.

OTHER CAVE INFORMATION:

Bethlehem Cave is a very special, sacred place. It is a former Catholic Monastery. The ceremony takes place right inside the entrance room (a nice large room) in full darkness. The entrance was converted into a rustic stone chapel with flat floors. This is where you will be.
